UKERNA launched the Wireless Technology Advisory Service (WTAS) at Networkshop on 4/05/07. This service provides free advice and guidance to organisations on all aspects of wireless technologies. For a number of years JANET-connected organisations have been deploying wireless LANs (WLANs) alongside the wired networking infrastructure within their campuses. The rate of growth in the deployment of WLANs within the teaching and learning environment is accelerating, in parallel with the demand-driven proliferation of fixed and mobile wireless technologies and standards.
