EYE Fi wireless sd card for Digital cameras

Now is this as good as it sounds a SD card that you fit in your camera that not stores photo's but publishes them to the web via wifi to flickr facebook etc . Is this just me getting excited or is this another slot in the ubiquitous computing emerging story !! Check it out a http://www.eye.fi/

The Guardian has a great "M" story that Mc Donalds is going to offer free WiFi at its outlets. The plan is hotspots that are FREE at most of its 1200 restaurants .

The london free hotspots thing is good - now it just needs GPS refrences so we can use handheld GPS such as the opensource LoadStone GPS www.loadstone-gps.com to navigate to the nearest free hotspot. Thanks for the load stone link looks well worth a look.

Mesh technology to geeky for some but watch the technology

I have been following mesh technology for providing coverage connectivity for a while. The one laptop per child project has pushed it a long way with the help of the gods of mesh at MIT view this highly technical pdf poster on one of there trials http://web.media.mit.edu/~ypod/DL_May07.pdf
